Rising damp: the silent climber
Rising damp occurs when groundwater climbs up masonry walls through capillary action, leaving a tide mark and crumbling plaster. It is the most misdiagnosed damp issue in Jaipur—many homeowners repaint repeatedly, unaware the moisture is travelling up from the ground.
The permanent fix is a chemical damp-proof course: silane/siloxane cream injected into the wall creates an invisible capillary-break. Combined with salt-retardant renovation plaster, the wall dries from the top down over 8-12 weeks.
Penetrating damp and leaky pipes
Penetrating damp enters through cracked render, defective coping or failed pipe seals—common along exposed external walls facing monsoon rain. Unlike rising damp, it shows as isolated patches that grow after rainfall.
Repair involves sealing the water entry point, applying a breathable water-repellent coating and fixing the plumbing or drainage defect. Our thermal imaging precisely locates these hidden ingress points without demolition.
Condensation and mould
Poorly ventilated rooms and cold wall surfaces condense indoor humidity, feeding black mould. This is often mistaken for penetrating damp. The engineering fix is ventilation, insulation and vapour-permeable finishes that let walls breathe.
We pair every wall treatment with a moisture audit so the true cause—not the symptom—gets solved.
